ASP Identifier Chain Handcuffs permanently infuse distinctive colors into the polymer overmold of ASP Chain and Hinge restraints. The color will not chip, wear or fade. The frame geometry of ASP Tactical Handcuffs is the result of extensive computer modeling and simulation analysis. The cuff structure is forged from high strength stainless steel on custom built, high speed, progressive dies. Each restraint is then overmolded with ordnance grade polymer under 75 tons of pressure. The overmolded frames of Tactical Handcuffs combine incredible strength with light weight. An optimized frame design was achieved through the use of sophisticated computerized engineering programs. Strength potential is maximized through an optimal combination of materials, frame geometry, reinforcing ribs and precision hardening. The use of ordnance grade polymer as an overmold produces a restraint with radiused edges and beveled keyways. The unique conical geometry of the design provides a cuff that can accommodate the largest wrist while at the same time being able to secure the small wrists of juveniles and women. Traditional handcuff training taught officers to position the keyhole up. In the classroom, the emphasis was on proper technique. The reality of the street focused on getting the cuffs applied. Tactical Handcuffs are designed for the real police. Keyways are on both sides of each cuff. Now the emphasis can be on safe application. Whatever way the handcuff is applied, the keyway will always be up. All ASP handcuffs compile with the NIJ Standard 0307.01.

Chain Handcuff Series
ASP Chain Handcuffs were designed in the field. Input came from officers and instructors in over 80 nations where ASP currently conducts training. As a result, this ASP design incorporates the practical features most requested by officers on the street. A stainless steel handcuff that weighs less than standard designs. Chain cuffs are flexible and more easily applied during a confrontation. A flat contact bow improves application.

Complex “keyhole up” training procedures are no longer necessary. There is a keyway and double lock slot on each side of each restraint. A double lock warning bar is readily visible. Both double and single locks are released by turning the key in a single direction. The frame geometry, deep set teeth and precision smooth action eliminate the need for backloading. Lock Assemblies are readily replaced.
