AA batteries have the distinct advantage of being readily available in virtually every part of the world. Lithium power cells provide increased cold weather performance, extended shelf life and high energy density. The newly introduced Lithium AA batteries by Energizer and ASP function nine times (9x) longer than their alkaline counterparts. They are ideal for duty use.
The Triad® AA provides the unique features of the Triad light (foam grip, reversible pocket clip, three position locking switch) in an AA format. Machined from 6061 T6 aluminum, each light is Type III hardcoat anodized in a matte black finish. An aluminum reflector and gold plated circuit boards drive a Cree XPG2 R5 LED to a sustained output of 235 lumens as measured against the ANSI FL-1 Standard. A precision ground glass lens is optically coated on both sides. Each Triad AA comes encased in a zippered ballistic carrier that may be used to store spare batteries or the removable pocket clip.

The ASP Triad light is machined from a bar of 6161 T6 aerospace aluminum. They are hard coat anodized in a proprietary matte black finish. Each light has a foamed vinyl grip like the finest Tactical Baton. Each Triad incorporates the ASP designed three position intermittent, locking, constant-on switch. Light engines are from the latest generation of Cree high performance LEDs. They are from a binning selected for its pure white chromonicity and high lumen output. The LED designation as well as an individual serial number are laser engraved into each light. Batteries are 3v Lithium CR123A primary cells. The shatterproof lens is water clear polycarbonate. A clip groove is machined into the lens and switch end of each light. A heat treated pocket clip and wrist lanyard loop snap into either groove. They are included with each Triad.

The Triad® USB adds a micro USB charge port, internal charge circuit and Lithium-Ion power cell to the ASP signature design. Premium Triad features remain. A foamed vinyl grip complements a matte black Type III hardcoat anodized aerospace aluminum body. The four cut switch rotates to an Intermittent · Locked · Constant position. A replaceable belt clip may be attached lens up or lens down. All connectors and springs on the Triad USB are gold plated. The electronic circuit board drives a Cree XPG2 R5 LED to 300 lumens as measured against the ANSI FL-1 Standard.

Loosening the head of the Triad reveals the micro USB charge port. Attach the retractable charging cable to the supplied car charger, wall charger or to a computer USB port. Even a micro USB cell phone charger can be used to recharge the Triad USB. The battery indicator of the Triad blinks red when charging. It turns solid green when fully charged. The wall charger, car charger and retractable charge cord are encased in a zippered ballistic carrier. The car charger and wall charger have a blue LED indicator to confirm that the power source is active.
